Introduction

Nothing says glamour and sophistication like the rich combination of black, gold, and silver in a holiday design. My Signature Black & Gold Majestic Christmas Tree is all about luxury, depth, and sparkle, creating a regal and breathtaking statement in any space.

If you love bold elegance, rich metallics, and a high-end designer aesthetic, this tree is for you!

In this blog, I’ll take you through my step-by-step process for designing the Black & Gold Majestic Signature Piece, from the perfect ornaments to the finishing touches that make this tree a true showstopper.

The Foundation: Selecting the Right Tree

The base of the Black & Gold Majestic tree is key to setting the tone for this luxurious design. I recommend:

7.5 ft Pre-lit Flocked King of Christmas Tree prepped and ready to be transformed
7.5 Pre-lit Flocked Christmas Tree

  • A full, pre-lit black tree – Creates a deep, dramatic background for metallics to shine.

  • A heavily flocked tree – If you prefer a snow-kissed effect, the white flocking enhances gold and silver accents beautifully.  *This is what I used.

  • A tall and grand tree – This theme looks stunning on larger trees (7.5’ or taller) for a true regal effect.

  • *What I used. A good quality tree – This stunning tree is from King of Christmas. A good tree means it will last a long time and for a flocked tree, it means little mess to clean up like with other brands.

Pro Tip:  Choose warm white lights rather than cool-toned LEDs. They complement gold décor and create an inviting glow.

The Color Palette: Balancing Gold, Black & Silver

This design is rich, bold, and perfectly balanced, with each color playing a key role:

  • Black – The deep foundation that makes gold pop.

  • Gold – The main star, adding warmth and opulence.

  • Silver – The perfect accent to soften and brighten the bold contrast.

Pro Tip:  Keep gold as the dominant metallic, with silver used as an accent to break up the darkness and add dimension.

Luxe Ribbons & Textiles for Depth

Ribbons add movement and elegance to the tree. I use:

Using several different color/textures of wired ribbon is key for a luxe tree
Wired Ribbon in different colors and textures

  • Black velvet ribbon – Deep, matte contrast to metallic accents.

  • Gold mesh wired ribbon – Reflects light beautifully and adds warmth.

  • Black and Gold wired ribbon – Lightens up the overall design while adding texture.

Pro Tip:  Use a crisscross layering technique instead of spiraling ribbon around the tree. Tuck loops into branches at varying depths for a cascading effect.

Statement Ornaments & Embellishments

To make Black & Gold Majestic truly regal and dramatic, I use a mix of:

Stunning oversized glass silver ornaments trimmed in black and gold add depth and texture to your tree.
Large Glass Gold and Black Bauble

  • Oversized gold and black baubles – The larger the ornaments, the grander the look!

  • Gold filigree and baroque-style ornaments – Adds a touch of Old Hollywood glamour.

  • Touches of Silver ornaments – Enhances shimmer and creates an elegant contrast.

  • Black and gold picks – A luxurious, unexpected detail that softens the look.

  • Gold magnolia or black poinsettia floral picks – Fills gaps and adds depth.

Pro Tip:  Place larger ornaments deeper into the tree and layer smaller, detailed ones toward the edges for a designer-styled effect.

The Showstopping Tree Topper

This tree deserves a dramatic, grand topper to complete the luxurious look. I love to use:

The Signature Black and Gold Majestic Christmas Tree Topper filled with stunning black gold and silver sprays creating a festive display.
Luxe Black, Gold & Silver Tree Topper

  • A grand gold and black bow – Layer multiple wired ribbons for a stunning statement.

  • Black and Gold stems & sprays – Adds height and elegance.

  • Silver Feathers – To catch light from every angle.

Pro Tip:  Instead of using just one item for the topper, combine multiple elements (bows, picks, sprays) to create a full, multi-dimensional crown for the tree.

The Finishing Touch of My Signature Black & Gold Majestic Christmas Tree

To complete the look, I style the tree base with:

Our Signature Black and Gold Majestic Tree beautifully decorated with unique pieces of black and gold glass ornaments, several different ribbons, black and gold poinsettias, picks and sprays and touches of silver plus a gorgeous metallic tree skirt sparkling with snowflakes brings the magic to life.
Our Signature Black and Gold Majestic Tree

  • Gold and black gift boxes – Chic, monochrome wrapping enhances the theme.

  • Mirrored or metallic accent décor – Placed around the base for extra shimmer.

  • * What I used. A black faux fur or gold sequin tree skirt – Adds warmth and elegance.

Pro Tip:  Stack decorative gift boxes in different heights and patterns to create a designer-styled tree base instead of a tree skirt or collar.

If you have a friend or family member who lights up at the sight of throw pillows, has a “candle closet,” or rearranges their mantel seasonally—you’ve got a home décor lover on your hands. This holiday season, skip the generic gift cards and give them something they’ll truly appreciate: beautiful, thoughtful gifts that match their style.

Here are our favorite hand-picked ideas for every home décor enthusiast on your holiday list:

  1. Designer Holiday Ornaments

Help them add something special to their Christmas tree with hand-blown glass ornaments, velvet baubles, or metallic statement pieces. Choose ones that fit their favorite color palette or holiday theme.

Pro Tip: Wrap them in a velvet pouch or custom ornament box for an extra-luxurious feel.

  1. Seasonal Scented Candles

Think beyond basic pine and opt for layered scents like balsam + amber, fig + fir, or peppermint + vanilla bourbon. Look for beautifully designed vessels that can be reused after the season.

Gift idea: Bundle a candle with a pretty wick trimmer or matching jar for a full set.

  1. Personalized Home Accents

Custom items like embroidered stockings, monogrammed throws, or engraved cutting boards make heartfelt and useful gifts. They bring a personal touch to everyday décor.

  1. Coffee Table Books (That Double as Art)

Choose oversized design books about interior styling, Christmas decorating, florals, or architecture. Not only are they inspiring—they’re also beautiful on display.

  1. Luxe Holiday Throw Blankets

Think chunky knit, faux fur, or cashmere blends. Choose colors that complement holiday decor or offer a neutral that will work all winter.

Wrap Tip: Roll the blanket and tie with a satin ribbon and mini ornament for an Instagram-worthy presentation.

  1. Elegant Tablescape Sets

Help them elevate their next dinner party with unique chargers, napkin rings, or heirloom-style table runners. If they love entertaining, this will be a holiday hit.

  1. Mini Pre-Lit Trees or Wreaths

Smaller-scale décor like tabletop trees, LED wreaths, or mantle-ready garlands are great gifts that add instant holiday charm without the need for major storage.

  1. QVC Holiday Finds (Curated by Red’s Holiday Decor)

I love incorporating my favorite QVC holiday items into my professional installs—and many of them make wonderful gifts! Look for limited-edition light-up pieces, collectible figurines, and luxe garlands that are as affordable as they are festive.

  1. Gift a Decor Service

Treat them to a holiday decorating service or consultation with a designer (hint: me!). It’s an unforgettable experience and a gift that brings joy all season long.

Wrap It Up Beautifully

Don’t underestimate the power of presentation! Home décor lovers appreciate beautiful wrapping. Use kraft paper, velvet ribbons, dried orange slices, or mini bells to finish the look.

Give Gifts That Make Their Home Shine

When you gift with intention, you’re not just giving an object—you’re giving joy, inspiration, and a reason to celebrate every time they walk through the door.

As we step into the 2025 holiday season, Christmas décor is bigger, bolder, and more personalized than ever. This year, expect to see luxury meets nostalgia, a return to nature-inspired elements, and unexpected color palettes that break the traditional holiday mold. But just as some styles rise, others fade into the past that's why it's important to know the Top Christmas Trends for 2025: What’s In & What’s Out.

Let’s dive into the hottest Christmas décor trends for 2025—and what styles are officially on their way out!

*What’s IN for Christmas 2025?

  1. Black (or Blue), Gold & Jewel-Toned Elegance

Bold, moody color palettes are dominating holiday décor this year. We’re seeing a rise in deep emerald greens, sapphire blues, and rich plums, paired with gold, black, and metallic accents for an ultra-luxe holiday look.

  1. Nature-Inspired & Woodland Themes

Bringing the outdoors inside is a major trend for 2025! Think woodland animals, natural garlands, and earthy, organic textures.

• Use wooden ornaments, pinecones, and dried citrus for a natural touch.

• Add soft, cozy elements like knit stockings and faux fur tree skirts.

Why It Works:  This trend embraces sustainability and timeless charm, making it both stylish and eco-friendly!

  1. Over-the-Top Tree Toppers

Say goodbye to simple stars—2025 is all about extravagant tree toppers that make a statement!

  1. Christmas in Unexpected Spaces

Gone are the days when holiday décor was limited to the living room. In 2025, people are decorating every room of the house—even unexpected spaces!

• Create tablescapes in dining rooms and coffee tables with holiday florals and candles.

Bonus Tip:  Don’t forget holiday-scented candles in every room for a full sensory experience!

  1. Personalized & Nostalgic Holiday Décor

This year, it’s all about blending modern luxury with personal touches that bring back childhood memories.

The Key:  Combine family traditions with fresh, modern elements to make your holiday unique!

  1. Iridescent Ornaments & Accents

Iridescence is in, and it's all about bringing a dreamy, magical glow to 2025’s holiday designs. These shimmering pieces shift color in the light—adding movement, depth, and elegance to trees, garlands, and tablescapes.

Incorporate It:

• Use iridescent ball ornaments as fillers to reflect your tree’s lights and add dimension.

• Add iridescent snowflakes, stars, or icicles for a soft, ethereal touch.

• Mix with metallics, pastels, or jewel tones to create a balanced, designer look.

Why It Works:  The multi-tonal shine of iridescence pairs perfectly with modern and traditional themes alike, making it a versatile and fresh update for any style.

  1. Chocolate, Bronze and Ombre Ornaments & Accents

Did I say OMBRE?! One of the standout trends for holiday decor in 2025 is the rise of the rich, warm tones—especially the ombre decor. These colors bring a touch of sophistication and warmth to any space creating a cozy yet upscale holiday atmosphere.

Incorporate It:

Christmas Trees: mix the brown ornaments throughout your tree for depth. Layer in gold or champagne accents for added sparkle.

Garlands & Wreaths: Add bronze and ombre ribbon or metallic picks to greenery for texture and visual intrigue.

Tabletop Decor: Use bronze candle holders, ombre glassware, and chocolate-colored accents to create a cohesive and luxurious tablescape.

Something New & Special:  This palette captures the comfort and warmth of the season while feeling fresh and modern, yet still versatile enough to work with both traditional greenery and more contemporary, minimalist styles. The metallic shimmer of the bronze reflects the light, while the ombre effect adds visual depth creating that one-of-a-kind design.

  1. The Extra-Large Holiday Bow

Oversized is in! This year's most stylish tree topper and why it works:

The Extra Large Bow
The Extra Large Bow

  • It feels fresh and unexpected. The traditional star has its charm, but a large bow offers a modern twist without losing the holiday magic.

  • It creates instant drama. A big, beautifully structured bow adds height and visual weight, making the tree feel balanced and luxurious.

  • It pairs effortlessly with trending ribbon décor. With ribbons making an appearance on wreaths, garlands, mantels, and gift wrapping, using one as the topper ties together the entire holiday look.

  • It’s fully customizable. From velvet and chiffon to wired metallic or patterned fabric, the bow becomes an expression of your theme and taste.

Whether you want subtle sophistication or a show-stopping focal point, the oversized bow is a trend that elevates any holiday tree.

*What’s OUT for Christmas 2025?

  1. Overly Matchy-Matchy Trees

Gone are the days of trees that look like they came straight from a department store display. Instead, 2025 is about layered, curated trees with personality.

What to Do Instead:

• Mix textures and vary ornament sizes to create a dynamic look.

• Incorporate unexpected elements like florals and unique picks.

• Let your tree tell a story, blending old and new pieces.

  1. All-White Christmas Décor

While elegant, the all-white aesthetic is starting to feel too sterile and overdone. People are craving warmth, richness, and character in their holiday designs.

What to Do Instead:

• Add in creamy ivories, gold, and soft pastels to warm up a white palette.

• Mix in wood and metallics for contrast.

• If you love a snowy look, try a white flocked tree with warm accents rather than white-on-white, or add silver decor to bring out that magical sparkle.

  1. Cheap Tinsel & Plastic Garlands

Tinsel is officially out, and artificial garlands that look fake are being swapped for more realistic, fuller alternatives.

What to Do Instead:

• Invest in real-touch faux greenery for a natural effect.

• Use wide, wired ribbons instead of tinsel for a more elegant drape.

• Try a mix of garlands (pine, eucalyptus, and berry sprays) for a layered look.

  1. Overly Bright LED Lights

Harsh, cool-toned LED lights are being replaced with warm, ambient lighting for a cozier holiday glow.

What to Do Instead:

• Use warm white fairy lights for a soft, magical glow.

• Incorporate candlelight and lanterns for a cozy feel.

• Dim lights slightly in the evening to create a warm, inviting holiday atmosphere.
